Saundaryam is not beauty added on. It is beauty that is already there, made visible.
Sthree Saundaryam began with a simple observation: Jewellery in South India was never ornamental first. It was iconographic. The forms we now buy in showrooms were worked out in temple workshops centuries ago, and written about with real seriousness — the Saundarya Lahari devotes verse after verse to adornment as a sacred act, not a decorative one.
That is the tradition we design inside.
Designed with inheritance
Kasu malai. Temple jhumkas. Antique kundan. The particular weight and fall of a mullai malai. These forms were refined over generations, and we see no reason to improve on them.
We work with karigars who still make them the old way — by hand, with the same tools and the same sequence of steps. Where a motif has fallen out of use, we bring it back: annam, chakram, Lakshmi, the naga. Each of these meant something specific before it became a pattern, and we design as though that meaning still holds.
What we make
Bridal sets, temple jewellery, everyday pieces, and one-off revivals from older designs — in gold-plated silver and antique finishes, with kundan and traditional stonework.
Some pieces are recreated from archival forms. Some are reworked from designs a customer brings us. All of them are made to be worn, not stored.

Sthree Saundaryam began with a plain idea: jewellery should be beautiful, wearable, and easy to live with. Gold has grown harder to buy, and fine gold and diamond pieces carry practical difficulties to travel with. I wanted alternatives that still carried elegance and confidence.
We design and curate jewellery in mixed metals and 925 silver, drawing on the look of gold and diamond work. You will find South Indian classics, statement pieces, everyday wear, and newer shapes, chosen with utmost care so they feel rich without being impractical.
Jewellery should not sit in a box for one evening. It should go with you, sit beside what you already own, and become part of how you dress.
